The Query Shark, and Author +Acting

So I sent my query letter into the Query Shark because I can't find anything wrong with it, I've adhered to all of the rules, and I'm stumped. I'm actually excited that I found this. Query Shark is actually an agent named Janet Reid. The way that it works is that you send her your query letter, she decides if she's going to critique it or not, and then if she does, she posts it on her blog with corrections. I have seen some of the letters, and they are hilarious. Some are common sense mistakes while she responds to others with real, honest insight on why they didn't get a positive response. She's brutal, but I love it. I would beg for that kind of brutality with my work if someone would just be honest with me. Hopefully I'll get a reply saying it's been posted.

On another note, I've decided to renew my dream of acting on the side. Despite everything else I'm going (like trying to get into the J-school), I find that I really miss acting and want to get back into it, maybe do some commercials or something. So I signed up for instantcast.com and maybe something will come up, I don't know. It will be interesting though.

And finally, I spent almost this entire weekend in my apartment watching Oxygen and TNT. Conair and Independance day were on while Pride and Prejudice (the version with Keira Knightley) and The Notebook came on Saturday. I have the music of Pride and Prejudice still stuck in my head, the music from the piano forte. I'd really want to play it or get the soundtrack if this movie has one. I loved the music and it made me miss piano a lot. It also kind of set my priorities straight.

Yesterday was my friend Jeff's birthday, and I was disappointed that I wasn't in town for it. However, I did end up trying to go to a Delta party, but it was packed and they weren't letting anyone else in. So I spent some time with the Too Hot Too Cute sisters and we partied till dawn. All in all, this weekend has been interesting, with me trying to finish my short story series set in Egypt and now unfortunately I have to start my homework
