What I'm Listening To: Release-Timbaland
My Spanish professor proofed the Spanish in my book today, which was an amazing help. Some of my friends have gotten into the J-School (found out via Facebook). I am going to reevaluate my life on Wednesday, but not before. I need to figure out how much of an emphasis I'm going to put on writing and I possibly might have to think about my major after Wednesday. I was trying to get some things together so that I could begin sending out query letters, and I stumbled across this website called Inkpop. It's a little like WritersCafe.org, only you have the potential to win a publishing contract with HarperCollins. The most popular projects are posted and it gives a time limit on when the Editorial Board will read them. Interesting project, and I might consider doing Inkpop for my second book, but not Nostalgia. I'm currently having readers read it now.
Another great resource that I found, because writers are constantly trying to figure out how to finance their careers, is a site called FundsforWriters.com. There are a bunch of grants, contests, fellowships, etc that writers can apply to if they're getting worried about how to finance their careers.
