The Universe Declares Your Majesty

What I'm Listening To: God of Wonders-Third Day

I'm at work and will be for a whole day, putting in a 9:00-4:30 day. This means that I have tons of free time as I still need to recover from yesterday morning. That involved watching a movie which ended up being Confessions of a Shopaholic. To me, it was hilarious because ladies love to shop, and I enjoy shopping myself, but I don't think anyone would ever get to the point where they were in that much debt, and if you kept dodging the debt collector, I'm pretty sure they would eventually put you in prison /jail. Anyway, I don't know why people were bashing it so much, it was good for a laugh. The movies were adapted from a book series (for some reason, it seems like the better movies often are) that I might have to read out of sheer curiosity.

Another thing that I wanted to share is that my co-worker and I were having a completely awesome conversation about the universe and how immense it is. I don't think we pause to realize as human beings how fascinatingly vast it is. Whether you are a spiritual person or not, it is simply awe inspiring. It only connects me that much more to my spirituality and makes me take pause at my own insignificance in the greater scheme of things. When my co-worker showed me this (no really, look at it) I had a moment. You should too. Just take a moment to pause and realize that even when things are crazy or not going as planned, or you're feeling down, there are much greater things to be had in our world and an entire unchartered adventure that it just waiting to be discovered. When people ask me about aliens or if there is life on other planets, I tell them that I believe that there is life on other planets, but who can really know? We humans are limited in what we know and our capacity to discover more, but as shown by that link, there are millions of galaxies that we can't even begin to fathom and there are smaller things that we cannot even begin to understand. Such things make me know in my soul that there is a God. Everything is not known--there is not a formula or mathematical function for everything, nor should there be. Sometimes I think we should sit back and know that there is something so much bigger than us and that we don't have to figure out absolutely everything because it has already been taken care of.

In addition, if you guys haven't seen the Did You Know movie or any of them in the series (there is now a Did You Know 4.0), I highly recommend it. It's fascinating as well and could blow your mind.
