What I'm Listening To: I love College-Asher Roth
(NOT)
College is the last thing on my list to love right now. The truth will not set you free, it will imprison you and attempt to murder you (and by truth I mean predicate logic truth tables and proofs). I swear I don't know what just happened in my philosophy exam a couple of hours ago, but luckily it wasn't happening with just me. Almost 3/4 of the class was still there taking the test at five minutes after the class was supposed to end. This is no reflection on our professor as he is one of the best and most fair teachers I've had period and I really want to send him a fruit basket with a Teacher of the Year Award. He would probably want a beer though. Seriously. And I did understand the truth tables, the proofs just got me. You ever have the feeling that you studied really hard for something and then still do horribly? Luckily I've been offsetting my study time with Dexter.
Can I just say that Dexter is awesome, even though the premise is really creepy? Who ever heard of a serial killer who only killed killers? (I wish....) I'm almost done with the first season, and it's great. I don't know if I'll keep watching (because finals are literally right around the corner and I need to end this year well), but I definitely think it's a keeper and everyone should watch at least one episode. You know finals are right around the corner when teachers are already handing you evaluation sheets. Luckily I'll have nothing but good stuff to write this year, even if I did dislike some classes.
I've also been having interviews for an internship this summer. I don't know if I'll get them, but hopefully I will if I plan to keep going with Journalism. Along with that, I've been trying to find time to write. I think everything is kind of gong smoothly with the book and hopefully I will still manage to stay on schedule.
It also seems to be that time of year when many book deals are being made. Holly Root's twitter is ablaze with news all the new books coming out (I know this due to the fact that my phone has been going off constantly). It's refreshing and encouraging to know that somewhere, someone's dream is being accomplished--or their fourth or fifth dream. It encourages me and lights a fire under my rear to finish my new book so that maybe someday I can make my dream come true as well.
In the meantime, tell me what new tv shows I should watch. I'm trying to go old, like maybe 90's. One on the list was Dawson's Creek and another was Arrested Development. Yes, I know that's a newer one but work with me here, people and hopefully my next post won't be so delayed. Wish me luck on finals.
