What I'm Listening To: Cry Out to Jesus-Third Day
So I was browsing the web for scholarships today. I was specifically looking for scholarships where you are not required to write an essay, because I simply do not have the time to write essays that aren't for class, but I found an unbelievable amount of scholarships and monetary awards on ScholarshipExperts.com . It was almost ridiculous, especially if you're a poet. So I'm actually going to submit my poetry book to one of the scholarships that I found and see if I get it. I'm also going to submit my short stories to the contests as well. I was honestly shocked at the amount of writing scholarships that there are on that website.
Fastweb was starting to annoy me because I don't have time to write numerous essays and it's difficult for me to receive scholarships, but I always still apply. And Fastweb is a really good source to find scholarships, don't get me wrong, but I'm always doing so much that to apply for a scholarship that you know you probably won't receive is futile. So I would definitely recommend applying to scholarships and contests if you haven't already. Meanwhile, I am tweeting it up! Sometimes I seriously think I have too many social networks going on, if you know what I mean...
"Next to doing things that deserve to be written, nothing gets a man more credit, or gives him more pleasure than to write things that deserve to be read" - Lord Chesterfield

$60 for one poem? No way.....
What I'm Listening To: Oh Happy Day-BeBe Winans
Prime Magazine, the magazine that I edit, is holding a poetry contest for all you aspiring poets out there. The first prize is $60 and a five page spread in the magazine. The second is $25 and the third is $15. I mean how many people can say that they make $60 an hour? The poem probably won't even take you an hour if you have your creative juices running or if you're a good writer. The contest is running NOW through December 7th, so please submit your poetry to the contest, and GOOD LUCK! For more details, please visit prime-magazine.webs.com
