What I'm Listening To: Bad Romance-Lady Gaga
I had to finally comment on it. The mistress count is up in the double digits, an icon has fallen, endorsements have been lost, the text messages have been released, the SNL skit done, the phone message released on YouTube and now Tiger Woods announces that he is taking a hiatus from golf.
I have been following this story for days, and have refrained from commenting until now because everyone else in the world has. No one really talks about the kids though. I think that they forget that part of the story. I think that is the saddest part of it. Tiger has two kids and it's sad that they are going to grow up and hear about how their father cheated on their mother with all of these women. What kind of legacy is that? He may be the greatest golf player ever, and a sports legend, but I probably won't be watching golf after this (not that I ever watched it before anyway).
And yes, it may be an invasion of privacy, and yes, he's not perfect and not God, but you have to set yourself to a standard. The world did hold Tiger to a standard because he held himself to a standard, and now, it's absolutely gone. He may come back from this, who knows, but his image will be forever changed, especially in my opinion and especially I read these raunchy text messages.
Enough on that, now me time. Today was my Spanish final. I actually felt good about it, but I don't know how it will go. I'm at a Council meeting, trying to figure out how I can study for this theatre presentation tomorrow morning, and Journalism and Africa 277 in the rest of this week while my fellow representatives go at it. Then I want to go home and do absolutely nothing, but there's the study abroad application to finish, the review of the edits of the book, the decision of the J-school to wait for, and applying to be a counselor for SCE to do, all in the next semester. Then there's getting back on the literary agent horse and invest my time in finding one. I think I'm honestly going to enlist the help of a personal assistant with that. Then looking at potential law schools, and looking at finishing my next project. Will it be Renovatio, the sequel? Or it could be wrapping up my short story collection that I wanted to finish. I have many goals in this new year and hope that one of them is me on my way to Spain!
