EDITING

What I'm Listening To: Amazing Grace-Chris Tomlin

Nothing too good to report today. My fingers have been MIA because I got a really bad case of carpal tunnel the other day. I did get my first email issue of Publishers Marketplace today, but I'm pretty sure that I'm going to have to just subscribe to the whole thing. As another note, I just finished Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr and it is fabulous. The conflict in that book was insane and reminded me a little of the love conflict in my book, but on a smaller scale. I definitely recommend it. I fell in love with it because of the amazing descriptions of the faerie folk and their world. Definitely reading Ink Exchange, the second book, and I'll have to buy Fragile Eternity, the third book. I can't wait for the fourth book to come out.

I can't even remember what round of editing this is for me. I'm debating whether to go through it again or to simply focus on researching agents for it. I still have to start my other project as well. I'm really excited about it. I have about twelve other projects that I would love to get off of the ground, but simply don't have the time. This semester is going to be even more crazy because I have to figure out how to balance my time more. My journalism school decision hasn't come in yet, and I'm not sure if that's a good sign. I still have to apply for all of these programs, and I still haven't memorized my monologue for the Vagina Monologues yet.

Hopefully I'll have researched the agents enough that one accepts this time. I'm nervous about a lot of things because they all have to be decided soon, and about my volatile future, but hopefully they will all be resolved soon.

Top 10 Traits of a Christian Boyfriend

What I'm Listening To: Beautiful-Snoop Dogg

Thought this was so interesting, so I decided to share it. Personally, I think many of the traits should be a part of every man who wants to be with a woman. The end of the article said this:

"Bottom line: He is loving, complimenting, sincere, committed, caring, respectable, honest, trustworthy (yes, they go together). Because of our humanness, none of us is perfect. However those qualities that you see exhibited in his life now, reveal the ways he handles circumstances that will arise at a later date or if you should both decide that your relationship is serious and leads to marriage. You should compliment each other, as you learn of the other's strengths and weaknesses."

That is so true. I would even rename the article and you can read the full article here. I also read the article for the top 10 traits for the Christian girlfriend. That one was so down to earth I thought it was hilarious.

Happy New Year everyone! It's 2010! Sorry I'm so late in wishing you all a fabulous year. I also read my horoscope for the year last night and it said that this is going to be the year to get things done. I've been pretty optimistic about the book lately, almost done with the first run through and getting ready to do another run through soon. I just ordered a lot of books on Amazon (most about writing books), but the fun reading that I did buy was the Wicked Lovely series by Melissa Marr. I can already tell that they are going to be amazing and can't wait to start reading them. I love fantasy stories about fairies or mythical creatures. It's the ultimate book experience because these authors literally transport you to another world or immerse your world with elements from another world.

That's basically it for now, I've just been writing in my room and pounding out some things. I think next or soon I'll post my bucket list and let you see what I've come up with. Revel in the beginning of your new year ;)
